Top MTB Trails in SA.

Great short article from Bicycling.co.za on the top 20 MTB trails in SA. Which ones are your favourites?

Bicycling asked: if you had to choose just one top MTB trail in SA, which would it be and why? Here are some of their and my favourites. I’ve only ridden the ones around Cape Town so can only imagine what the rest are like.

Jonkershoek, Stellenbosch.

The Tygerberg network, Durbanville Hills.

Meerendal, Durbanville.

Majik Forest, Durbanville.

Thandi in Grabouw, Western Cape

The Vasbyt single track in Tokai, Cape Town.

Anywhere in the hills of Waterval Boven.

Groenkloof, Pretoria.

Virginia Trails, Eston.

Trail of Two Tunnels, De Doorns.

Mankele MTB bike park just outside Nelspruit.

Welvenpas, Wellington.

Rietvlei, Alberton.

Harkerville, between Plett and Knysna.

Lebanon in Grabouw.

Oak Valley, Grabouw.

Eselfontein, Ceres.

Holla Trails in Kwazulu-Natal.

Umkomaas Descent, Day 2, Sani2c. It’s rideable as a trail any day of the year.

Giba Gorge, KZN.

Van Gaalen, Magaliesberg.

Table Mountain also has great riding with the view of the city bowl and harbour.
